DMA Test - allocates random-sized and positioned memory blocks, transfers data between memory and the 1401 and checks for errors. If DMA is disabled by the CED 1401 control in the Windows Control Panel, this test still runs, but uses programmed i/o in place of DMA. If an error is detected, detailed information is displayed describing the error.
Refresh - transfers a block of memory to the 1401, waits for several seconds, then transfers the memory back and checks that it is unchanged. This tests that the memory in the 1401 is working correctly, in particular that it can retain its information for a significant period of time. This test also tests DMA transfers.
